Coco Gauff is nineteen and champion of US OPEN 2023. Her first time at the US OPEN and she made it count.

Pretty Miss Gauff caught our attention when she had to stand her ground against another player who was trying to act victim. She made her point clear without losing her temper. That was incredible.

Then we began to follow the match from the start. We prayed silently and watched with tensed up, wringing hands. Then she made it to the finals and many of us lost sleep because of the time difference.

Some of us could take the heat, they turned off their phones. Some of us stayed up. We couldn’t sit on our beds nor lie in them. We waited till the last minute of victory and dropped into our beds as we roared in victory, just as Cori Dionne Gauff collapsed with joy on the court.

It was a well fought battle. Good job to her parents, especially her dad and coach the ex- basketball player of Georgia state university.
