The organizers of Miss Italy has affirmed they will not entertain born males who are posing as women to be part of their competition. “You have to be born female to take part in the Miss Italy pageant.”

Following this announcement, one hundred transgenders entered the competition. The organizers however are not fazed.

This is a small space where women share their sisterhood and insecurities. It took many women decades to get the chance to celebrate women on stages across the world. Now even that chance is being taken from them. Transgenders have their pageant, men have their pageants and the little space women have has to tolerate men too?
